Numbers

Closed out our series PureSex this past week.  The stories and impact for singles, couples, and families has been exciting to hear. Of course this subject has created quite a buzz with folks. One of the great things is that we have been able to tackle a subject that is used and often abused all through our culture, and speak to it from God’s Word in a relevant way.

January and February continue to be a great season fo the year for people to connect or reconnect with Christ. So, we often do series that will connect with a felt need or topic that hits home…all in an effort to help people embrace the grace and truth of Christ.

With the buzz from this series, we have definitely been able to see the effects of how
FBCSmyrna’ers have done a great job of investing and inviting people to
this place. Attendance during this series compared to last year has grown by 18%. This includes two Sundays with not so great weather. That is almost 250 more people a week.

Now I know that some people like to criticize churches for focusing on numbers and blah blah blah. To many the simple fact is each of these "numbers" is a person, a soul, a creation of our heavenly Father. And this "number" has the need to hear the life-changing message of Jesus and find redemption in Him, or if they are a Christ-follower they have the opportunity to join us as we accomplish His mission. Also, I know the heart of our staff and people at FBCSmyrna who are not satisfied with big crowds on Sunday but have a hunger to see people Connect with God and begin to follow Christ for a lifetime.  Let me hear from ya!
