Blogosphere Made Simple…& Quicker

We all like to save a little time, so if you are new to the blog world like a lot of my friends (I think I have been able to convince some folks lately) here a a few tips that will help you save time and make the blogosphere even more rewarding for you.

Right now, I’m tracking 40 different blogs and other sources, but it only takes me a few minutes each day. Rather than visiting each of those sites individually, I take advantage of Really Simple Syndication (RSS)
to let the fun come to me in one location where I can scan only the new
posts and ignore the sites where I know nothing has been updated. I can also track newspapers, magazines, and other sites that use RSS. You
can do this as well. It’s really simple.

Here are a couple of tips for you:
1. Use a newsreader. I use Bloglines each day to read new posts, archive posts that I want to remember, and even email posts to folks who I think will be interested. I know a couple of folks who use NewsGator as another option. Firefox (my web browser of choice) also allows you to setup RSS feeds and I believe the new Internet Explorer will, too.

2. To subscribe to this feed you can start a quick Bloglines or NewsGator account and use the subscribe button in the right column. To subscribe in your web browser, you can copy and paste this link:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/JasonStewartOnlineDiscoveringLifeLeadership

3. You can also use the link "subscribe in a reader" with the orange logo to subscribe with more options.

4. Another tip is to have each new post sent directly to your email inbox.  For this blog, you will see the area to do that on the right column, Feedburner email subscription. If you are a widget person, you can also have blogs delivered to you as a widget. You will see the widgetbox link to the right also.

5.  Another new trick that is pretty snazzy that David Cox showed a few days ago was to use google as your homepage and setup an account with google.  Then you can customize your google page with rss & blog feeds, calendars, links, and tons of other info. Thanks David for making my blog the top on your fancy new google homepage.

Enjoy life a little more dynamic and simple!
